The Barnet family wanted to send you an update on how as a business we're coping with these unusual and traumatic circumstances we all find ourselves in.
We want to begin by sending our thoughts to those who have lost loved ones, or are currently suffering from the virus. And reiterate the praise and the appreciation we, and our staff, feel towards the NHS and emergency services during this crucial and trying time. We also want to thank delivery drivers, postmen, supermarket staff and everyone out there who continues to work, helping us to stay at home.
This is a hard time for all businesses and we are devastated to see companies, business, trade and lives suffer all around us. We too are concerned for our business, and our employees.
Shearer Candles has been trading for 123 years and in that time have survived and thrived. We are doing everything we can to continue to manufacture and trade.
We continue to follow all the Governmental advice on social distancing for the health and safety of our employees still working at our premises.
The welfare of our staff is our number one priority; we're a family business, but our family extends past the Barnet family to all our staff and their families. We want to take this opportunity to thank them for how they continue to support us, and have been able to adapt the way they work to help us continue.
Our fantastic facility in Govan will be bottling hand sanitiser in the coming weeks, and we're exploring options to manufacture it too. This is our way of doing our bit for those who need these products.
