How to store a scented candle

Shearer Candles FAQ Blog

Q: How should you keep a scented candle to maintain its scent?

A: There are a lot of things you can do to help enhance the life of a scented candle. For a start, keep them in a cooler place; heat is what diffuses the fragrance, so the warmer they are the more fragrance will be used.

If you want to keep them for a long time, you should wrap them in tissue paper and store them somewhere cool; this will help hold the fragrance. Consider the type of candle you buy, too. Jar candles or tin candles keep their scent because the candle and so the scent is enclosed.

Other candles like pillar candles aren’t enclosed, so the scent will naturally be more exposed. Candles should be admired, though, keeping them hidden away for special occasions is fine but we prefer to see them on display.

So remember, our scented candles will keep their scent literally for years. We use the finest ingredients and make the candles ourselves; we give you our word on their quality.
