Celebrate The Wedding Candle

Throughout history the celebration of marriage was recognised as being both culturally important and also a joyous and happy occasion. Making a public declaration of love to someone and proclaiming your wish to spend your entire life with them is pretty much the greatest compliment you can ever pay, or be paid. Entire industries have grown around weddings, countless magazines and websites offer tips, advice and suggestions on the ‘big day’. Most of us have our own ideas on what the perfect wedding should be. Whether it’s a big affair surrounded by family and friends and partying into the wee small hours, a private ceremony on a secluded sun drenched beach or something in between there is in fact no perfect wedding, only what’s right for you. I’ve attended weddings in humble church halls and in five star hotels and they were equally enjoyable. In the end there are very few hard and fast rules, they are all different and that’s part of their beauty. Candles have played a role in weddings for a very long time. Initially simply used for the practical purpose of giving light they were also integral elements of many religious services, and still are for some. Today, people looking to use candles in many innovative ways approach us. They are used as centerpieces on tables, tealights are used to decorate staircases, aisles or walkways. Outdoor candles are popular for summer weddings and coloured votive candles are used as part of a greater colour theme. We’ve also seen candles used as ‘favours’ gifts given to the guests by the bride and groom as a memento of their big day. We’ve a section on our website just for wedding candles but in truth all our candles are suitable, because how people use candles has evolved just as weddings have. It doesn’t matter if you are having a white wedding or a rainbow coloured one, we’ve a candle to suit. If you are looking for something a bit different or want some inspiration please drop us a line, we’d be delighted to help. BlogSignature14 Stephanie Barnet Marketing Executive Shearer Candles
