Happy Burns Night candle lovers!
Burns Night is a celebration of the life and poetry of the famous Scottish poet, Robert Burns. Robert Burns is a really important figure in Scottish culture, so we annually celebrate the Bard's birthday on Burns Night, 25th January.
A typical Burns Night celebration would be a sit down dinner, with many speeches, poetry readings, toast to the Haggis, ceilidh... and of course a fair few drams of Whisky. Like many things in life right now, Burns Night this year is a little bit different to normal, and many of us will be thinking of ways to mark the occasion from home.
We've seen some brilliant digital events advertised, including friend of Shearer Candles' Janey Godley's Big Burns Supper, so be sure to check that out tonight. So grab the Haggis and the Whisky and celebrate in style this evening!
And be sure to light your Highland Collection candles! Our Ae Fond Kiss and Red Red Rose fragrances are inspired by Burns' beautiful poetry.
Ae Fond Kiss (pictured at top of post) is our most popular fragrance in The Highland Collection. Discover delicate white heather mixed with sweet Highland honey producing a sensuous scent evoking feelings of romance.
Red Red Rose presents a rich, romantic scent of dew-drenched rose petals encapsulating the true essence of this beautiful flower.
Displayed in beautiful smoked glass vessels and tartan gift boxes, The Highland Collection is a joy to own and a delight to receive.
However you plan to spend Burns Night, we're raising a glass to you candle lovers!
